Halden-Rota-Halden 2007
Mom & Dad decided to take their annual trip to Rota, Spain in May of 2007. The trip down was fairly quick, and most of the stops were the same as in previous trips except for an over-night in Germany where I got to meet some sheep!
We stayed in Rota through 23 July, and Anuska came over from Florida to spend the summer with us and little Ray in Rota. Dad & Mom made a lot of changes in the apartment while in Rota. Mainly replacing the kitchen cabinets, but also replacing and remodeling the bathroom and entrance hall plus a new door. Dad also had to remove the last of some wallpaper in the front hall which was a big puzzle for Anuska to figure out because she thought that she and Dad had removed all of it before Mom & Dad got married.
We also celebrated both Anuska's and little Ray's birthday on the 21st of July, and had a few of Anuska's closest friends from Sevilla visit also.
Oh yes, don't let me forget to mention that we also got Chanty as my sister this time in Rota, and SURPRISE, SURPRISE --- Chanty turned out to be Pregnant! (See the slide show on the 3rd page of 'My Story'.)
On the 23rd of July we bid farewell to Little Ray and all our friends from Rota for this year and started on our return trip to Halden. This trip was going to be very different from previous ones.
Anuska would be coming back to Norway with us so the trip would be longer and also through some different locations than before. She had never travelled in Europe other than in Spain. As you can see from the map below, the trip would go from Spain to Portugal, back to Spain, to France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and finally Norway. Chanty was pregnant and due to have her pups any day now. She had them in a hotel in La Rochelle, France, and the puppies joined us for the remainder of the trip. Dad would have his wallet stolen on the very first day of the trip when we were visiting Anuska's friend Maria in Cascais, Portugal. And as it turns out, this would also be our last trip using the trusty old Mercedes, from now on all our trips will be in our new camper.
