I think I was about 1 yr old when I moved in with mom in Chipiona, Spain. It was a beautiful little 3-bedroom house with a garden both in back and front where I could play. We lived very near the beach and took many walks there. I hate getting wet, so I stayed away from the water, but I loved to run and play in the sand and seaweed ! Many times I needed a bath afterwards and I hated that too, but I guess the seaweed made me smell a little!

Sometime about 11 months after I moved in with mom, she brought home a little brown puppy who looked a lot like me. She had been living with a man who was a sheep herder, but he couldn't keep her anymore. She was only about 8 weeks old, but had very long legs. We decided to call her Sofie. Though not related, I consider her as a sister, and like human sisters, we fought many times though not very seriously. I guess I was jealous of the attention she was getting!

But it didn't stop with Sofie. A few months later mom found a new little puppy. Six weeks old and naughty. Fortunately she couldn't hop up on the sofa - so I could be there by myself! Sofie liked the newcomer very much and the two of them played while I sulked.
Mom called her Julie - since she was found in July 2000.
Now there were two whom I had to educate, and it was tough! They just teased me. I remember the first time we were going to drive from Chipiona to Norway; we argued about where to sit, who should get in/out of the car first, etc... Then, up in the cold north, we experienced snow for the first time. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... Sofie swam among the floating ice chunks in the fjord, and Julie played like a mole under the snow! Not something that tempted me; I just hated to get snow stuck between my toes.
Then we met mom's friend Ida. She fell in love with Julie, and it didn't take long before she took her home. Finally I got rid of her!
So it went for a little while - then Sofie moved in with the Ruud family; Knut Arne, Monica and Emilie. And then I had mom all to myself again. I couldn't have it any better - especially when mom moved to Halden, Norway and I could lie under the desk where mom worked and in her bed at night. Talk about having it good... like being in heaven!
But, every good thing in life comes to an end one day. Nobody lives forever.
Queenie was put to sleep by the veterinarian at 15:00 on the 6th of February 2008.
She had been operated on 2 times before for tumors, but they came back again; and with her heart condition it would not be possible to operate on her again. She had lost a lot of weight this last month, and was constantly fighting with Chanty . She wanted to be the boss til the very end.
We send her our best thoughts and thanks for all the wonderful memories she has given to us and everyone else she ever came in contact with.
We Miss you Queenie. May you rest in peace.
